Waste Consultants

As the tax on landfill increases year on year, companies are being encouraged to recycle as much as possible.

Some waste will always be non-recyclable.  For this waste, the only solution is to pay to have it removed.

Recyclable waste, on the other hand, now holds a value and it is possible to sell your commercial waste and generate a revenue stream.

The cost of waste removal services, and the prices paid for recyclables vary across the waste collection market.  Saxon White Consulting are experienced at sourcing the very best market prices for recyclables and waste removal services.  Our approach involves sourcing companies appropriate for the type and volume of waste produced, and entering in to negotiations with them in order to secure the best market prices and service levels.

Not all waste is ideal as a recyclable commodity, and it’s value is affected accordingly.  In some instances the value is so low that waste collection agents are not able to offer financial recompense for the collection.  However, many will remove the waste for free.

There are two collection options for recyclable waste:

Sorting the waste at source

This requires your staff to ensure that waste is put in to the appropriate container (which will be supplied by the waste management carrier) prior to leaving your company’s premises.  This option delivers the highest revenue for your recyclable waste.  Some waste, for example cardboard and plastics, may also require baling.  Although baling requires dedicated equipment, these machines are easily hired or bought, and operated, and again this process adds value to your waste.

Mixed recycling collections

Using a mixed recycling system allows your staff to put all types of waste in to one container.  This waste is then taken to a mixed waste recycling plant, where it is sorted and separated.  This is a costly process for the waste management company, and therefore places the value of your waste a little lower.  However, this is a good solution if you do not produce large quantities of any specific recyclable product or if you simply don’t have space for a number of containers.
